Local Area: Budleigh Salterton
Budleigh Salterton is a beautiful seaside town situated in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, around four miles east of Exmouth and twelve miles from Exeter. It forms part of Devon's Jurassic Coast, with a unique coastline characterised by a pebble beach and dramatic Red Devonian Sandstone cliffs. East of the town, the mouth of the River Otter runs into the sea.
Bus services connect Budleigh Salterton with Exeter, Exmouth and Sidmouth, and the summer Coast Hopper service provides access to other towns along the Jurassic Coast including Lyme Regis, Seaton and Bridport.
Residents of Budleigh Salterton are served by the town's centrally located Medical Centre, which runs a general practice with male and female doctors.
There are three schools in the Budleigh Salterton area: the central St Peter's C of E Primary School, Drake's Primary School in East Budleigh, and Otterton C of E Primary School. Little Otters Pre School and Toddlers Group is also located in East Budleigh, while neighbouring Exmouth provides education for secondary-age children at Exmouth Community College.
